Using design and empathy to solve social problems, with Ana Mengote Baluca

Ana Mengote Beluca believes that good design should always be purposeful. Ana is a multi-disciplinary designer based in New York. Her work is commonly found at the intersection of community-building and creative problem-solving. Born in the Philippines, raised in Seattle, and now shuttling around the U.S., Ana knows what it’s like to embody multiple identities. She talks to us about being both Filipino and American, why she chose to identify as a feminist, and how the COVID pandemic led her to rethink her purpose.
